Sized Hats That Don’t Squeeze Big Heads (Because You Deserve Better)

A Cap That Actually Fits Your Big Head?

It might sound like a niche problem. But if you’ve ever tried to wear a “one size fits most” hat on a larger head, you know it’s not niche—it’s just neglected. Tight temples, red marks, that weird puffed-up look… we’ve seen it all. And frankly, you deserve better.

That’s exactly why we started designing hats specifically for people with larger heads. It wasn’t a grand master plan. It was just a natural step—our customers asked for them. First, it was throwaway comments like, “You guys should do hats too.” Then the emails started rolling in. By then, we’d already become the go-to brand for big head sunglasses. Hats were the next logical move.

From Sunglasses to Suede Caps—Why We Did It

We’ve been making sunglasses since 2012, but 2019 was a turning point. That’s when we went all-in on large head sizes. Since then, we’ve fitted tens of thousands of customers—many of whom hadn’t worn comfortable glasses in years. The kind of emails we get from these folks—especially the ones ordering prescription lenses—are honestly quite moving.

So, when people started asking us to make hats too, it wasn’t a question of if, it was when.

And instead of going with the usual cotton strap-back design, we chose suede. Why? Because we wanted to give our customers something different. It’s already hard enough to find a good XXL hat. Why not make ours stand out, look sharp, and still feel like it was made for you?

Comfort First—Always

Everything we design starts with one question: will it be comfortable enough for all-day wear?

That’s been my north star since day one. And now, as we build out our hat line, I’m aiming to give people with big heads the same range of choices that folks with average-sized heads enjoy. That means new styles, new fits, and options that don’t feel like a compromise.

In fact, most of our customers know their hat size better than their sunglasses size—which is why the fit tends to feel spot-on right out of the box. And if you're not sure, our fit tool can help you figure out where to start.

Why We Didn’t Go With the Obvious Choice

Sure, we could’ve gone the easy route and launched with a classic black cotton cap. That style already exists—and it probably would’ve sold more straight out the gate. But that’s exactly why we didn’t do that.

I know there are already XXL cotton caps on the market, and if a customer finds one of those and it works for them, I’m genuinely happy for them. For me, it’s never been about trying to grab every sale—it’s about offering something different.

We chose suede because it adds something unique to the options already out there. It might not sell quite as fast as a cotton cap, but that doesn’t matter to me. What matters is giving people with big heads more choices—real choices—when for so long, they’ve had none.

What Customers Are Saying

“I’ve got a 63cm head, and I’ve never had a hat that actually felt comfortable—until now. The suede cap is sturdy but soft, and it just fits. No more headaches, no more squeezing. Finally.”
